WINNER Gridlife Alpine Horizon Fest Street Class Time Attack - The Tesla that Broke the Rulebook in its Debut August 2020
1st Place - #GRIDLIFE Alpine Horizon Festival 2020
Drew Cleaver was the first entrant to contend #GRIDLIFE Time Attack with an electric vehicle, forcing a rulebook review and elaboration for the future.
Having previously been granted a Street classification prior to the new Track Battle EV class (geared towards heavily modified EV builds), the car was prepared to Street specifications with a max-allowed AWD tire size of 255 and entered into ST on board the new Falken RT 660 200tw.
By the end of Friday night of Alpine Horizon, Drew Cleaver in the 4,220lb Unplugged Performance Tesla Model 3 was leading the 60 car field of both Street and Street GT entrants with a weekend best time of 1:02.58 around the roval at Pikes Peak International Raceway.
Nobody protested, but Gridlife staff were very surprised and enthusiastically supportive and wanted to hype their new Track Battle EV class. By the end of the weekend, Drew's time was able to take P2 in SGT, P1 in ST, but ultimately declared the winner of Track Battle EV.
